Karwar: A complaint has been lodged with the election officials against a Facebook page for creating confusion over the election issue by unauthorisedly using the photograph of Speaker Vishweshwara Hegde Kageri.
Using the photograph of Kageri, the BJP candidate from Sirsi Assembly Constituency, a fake page named ‘Sirsi Siddapura Balishta Brahmana has been created and it has posted saying not a single vote should be wasted. “Give all the votes to Kageri and make our Brahmin Samaj stronger.”
Through this Facebook account, it seemed like Kageri is spreading a wrong message that he is seeking votes on the basis of caste. Kageri’s photo was used unauthorisedly. Sadananda Bhatta has requested the returning officers to take appropriate steps to ensure that people are not motivated to vote on the basis of caste.
