Karwar: The search of the forest officials in Karwar for illegally stocked timber has led them to unearthing illegally stashed arms and weapons.

The incident took place in Siddhapura of Uttar Kannada district.

Acting on a tip off that large quantity of timber has been stocked at a village named Muttalli, the forest sleuths struck the residence of Prakash Naika. However, the sleuths were shocked to retrieved illegal guns instead of timber. It was later learnt that Manjunath Madiwal, Naika’s neighbour is the owner of the guns.

Both, Naika and Madiwal have been arrested.
