Mangaluru: BJP National President Amit Shah, strongly condemning the killing of a young BJP karyakartha in Kannur district of Kerala has said that the murder smells of political vendetta.
A 25-year-old BJP worker named Remith was hacked to death at Pinarayi, which is the home town of Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan, just two days after the murder of CPI-M activist in the district.
Reacting to the same, Shah in his tweet said “Murder of Ramith, a BJP karyakarta, in Pinarayi village, Kannaur district, hometown of Kerala CM is disturbing. Chavassery Uttaman, Ramith’s father was similarly killed in 2002, his mother suffered serious injures when his house was attacked recently.”
“Attacks on BJP karyakartas in CM Pinarayi Vijayan’s home constituency is a matter of grave concern and smacks of political vendetta,” he added. Kannur has witnessed a series of attacks on political workers in the recent past and murder was Remith is eighth political murder over the last ten months.
A CPI(M) activist and toddy shop worker, Mohanan (40) was murdered by a six-member gang at Pathiriyad in the district two days back, with CPI(M) pointing fingers at RSS for the attack. Remith’s murder is now billed off as a revenge killing.
