Mangaluru: The Team Modi (former NaMo brigade) is organising another Yakshgana Bayalata ‘Devi Mahatme’ after five months in city today,i.e., on May 24.
Earlier, when the poll fever was slowly catching up, Team Modi had organised a Yakshgana Bayalata to seek Goddess Kateel Durgaparameshwari’s blessings and benevolence to ensure the victory of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2019 Lok Sabha polls. Hence, a special Yakshagana Bayalata programme was organised at Mannagudda on December 29, where the famous episodes of ‘Devi Mahatme’ were staged.
Though the election results were out only on May 23, ‘Team Modi’ got a hint of getting maximum seats for BJP and they are sure of Modi becoming the prime minister of the country again. Hence, they approached Kateel Yakshgana troupe, three weeks ahead of final announcement of results and asked them to stage another Yakshagana Bayatala ‘Devi Mahatme’ at Car Street. As BJP alone has secured 300 plus seats now and Modi becoming the prime minister of the country again is confirmed, Team Modi is organising another Yakshagana Bayalata.
Prior to the Yakshgana programme, an Annadana (mass feeding) programme will be held where 5000 Yakshagana enthusiasts and Modi supporters are expected to participate. As bursting crackers is very common in every Yakshgana programme, a large quantity of crackers is expected in the programme. The expense of the Yakshgana will be shared by the ‘Team Modi’ and the members of other organisations, sources informed.
The Mangaluru unit head of Team Modi, Naresh Shenoy told newskarnataka.com that Team Modi and other organisations had organised Yakshagana Bayalata five months ago seeking the blessings of the Goddess for Modi to become prime minister of the country again. “As our prayers are answered now with the Goddess blessing Modi, we are organising another Yakshgana Bayalata”, he informed.
