On Monday, March 25, the BJP leveled allegations against the Congress-led State government, accusing it of falsely portraying certain Union government schemes as its own initiatives. Shivashankar, spokesperson for the State Scheduled Caste Morcha of the BJP, addressed presspersons, highlighting discrepancies in the distribution of rice under the food security scheme.

According to Shivashankar, while the Union government supplies 22 lakh tonnes of rice monthly to the State government, the Congress government redistributes the same rice under the label “anna bhagya.” He further claimed that the State is utilizing grants from the Union government to implement its guarantee schemes.

Emphasizing the developmental strides witnessed over the past decade under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Shivashankar asserted the need for the BJP-led Union government to continue its tenure for further progress. He praised Union government initiatives such as Jandhan, Ujwala, and Swachh Bharat, which have significantly improved living standards by delivering incentives directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts, bypassing intermediaries.

Shivashankar also attributed an increase in global respect for the country to Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.
