BJP leaders approach Rajnath Singh, seek NIA probe into Sharath murder

Mangaluru: BJP leaders who have vociferously staged several protests in the recent days against the killing of Hindu leaders including that of RSS activist Sharath Madiwala met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday, reiterating their demand for a NIA probe into the murders.

Alleging politically vendetta into the murders that has been witnessed in recent days a delegation of ministers – union minister, D V Sadananda Gowda, MPs, Shobha Karandlaje and Nalin Kumar Kateel headed by state BJP president, B S Yeddyurappa urged Rajnath Singh to initiate a NIA probe into the killings besides seeking a ban on organizations, Karnataka for Democracy and Popular Front of India.

The delegation also voiced its demand for setting a NIA office in the state. Nearly 24 murders have taken place since the Siddaramaiah led-Congress governmnet came to power in the state. However the government instead of booking the guilty has been shielding them, said Yeddyurappa adding that a NIA probe will reveal if few that communal forces similar to Kerala are trying to disrupt the harmony in Dakshina Kannada district.

The Sharath killing is on the lines of Rudresh’s killing and hence it is suspected that the hands of communal forces are playing. The police are also of the suspicion that communal forces similar to Kerala are active in Dakshina Kannada district.

Meanwhile, it is gathered that Singh has assured the delegation that the case will be handed over to NIA.
