The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, MK Stalin, received an unexpected birthday wish from the BJP Tamil Nadu in Mandarin, adding another layer to the ongoing controversy over a Chinese rocket advertisement mistakenly featured by the DMK-led Tamil Nadu government.
The BJP claimed Mandarin was Stalin’s favorite language and even provided a draft for others to use. The incident stems from a recent advertisement error by the DMK, leading to a BJP versus DMK dispute.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the DMK for pasting a Chinese flag sticker on an ISRO launchpad, calling it an insult to Indian science and space sector.
Despite DMK MP Kanimozhi’s response, an apology was not issued. DMK minister Anitha Radhakrishnan acknowledged the mistake and attributed it to the designer’s oversight.
