Bajpe Police Encounters Two Men Stealing Cows From Residents

Mangaluru: In a  world where thieves often get caught for stealing money and gold, here is a rare case with two culprits caught in the act of stealing cows. The accused have been identified as Muhammed Sharif (23) who hails from the Pranthiya village of Moodabiudri and Hasainar (28), this one from the area near the Madrasa in the Thodar village.

The men were encountered by the Bajpe police while they were traveling in a car with fake number plates that they would use. The police later confiscated the car, a white Hyundai, that was worth an amount of five lakhs. 

The encounter, which took place on the 8th of february 2024, when station inspector Sandeep was informed of a white car making some suspicious movements somewhere around the Mucchur cross in the morning. 

The police then managed to intercept the car at the Yedapadavu village. The police later interrogated them as to why they were at the place. This was when they confessed to having stolen two cows and a calf from a resident of the village, who was later identified as Sujata. 

The two men were found to have been stealing hundreds of cows from places like Karkal, Thithahalli, Bajagoli, Kervase and Ajekaru. The Bajpe police station records this as the second time the older of the duo, Hasainar, has been accused of the same crime. 

Sources reveal that there was one more suspect in the case, who managed to flee the encounter and escape the hands of the police.
