The POSCO special court of Mangalore acquitted a man who was accused of sexually assaulting a woman and her minor daughter.

The incident took place three years back in 2021 when the Ullal police registered a case against Abookbakar Siddik for the crime against the mother and child staying in his home.

The police then conducted an investigation and took testifications of the victims, before submitting a charge sheet to the court which clearly proved the sexual assault.

A session was conducted where Mangalore Lex Law chamber advocates Oman Farook Mulki, Mohammed Asgar Mudipu, Hyder Ali Kinnigoli, Tausif Sacharipete and Mohammed Rifai took up the case of the accused.

As the court was unable to come up with the right proof, sessions judge Manjula Itti pronounced her judgment in favor of the accused, acquitting him of the case.
