Mangaluru: An employee at the Dakshina Kannada district Deputy Commissioner’s office was on Wednesday, April 22, placed under quarantine.

It is reported that the employee is a distant relative of the woman from Bantwal who succumbed to respiratory distress owing to COVID-19 on Sunday.

The employee, who has been placed under a 14-day quarantine, reportedly also met the doctor who was treating the deceased woman on April 18, to enquire about her health.

The DC office staffer, however, did not meet the ailing relative as she was in the ICU.

District Health Officer Dr Ramachandra Bayari informed that the employee placed under quarantine merely as a precautionary measure.
