Mangaluru: In violence-hit Mangaluru city, the curfew will be completely withdrawn from Monday, December 23, 6 am onwards. Meanwhile, mobile internet services – which were suspended after violent protests and police firing – was restored in the city .
Police sources said that the decision to withdraw the curfew completely was made as there have been no new instances of violence.
“The entire episode was a result of rumors being spread. Now an investigation is on-going. As no fresh protests are planned in the city or any part of the district and normalcy has returned, it has been decided to withdraw the curfew in total from Monday,” explained a police source.
Furthermore, the state government has restored mobile internet connectivity in the city from Sunday, December 22 early morning.
