Mangaluru: The festival of lights is fast approaching and the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board has urged people to stay away from bursting crackers between 10 pm and 6 am for convenience of people.
A press release issued by the Pollution Control Board stated that people must pay attention towards crackers that are less polluting in nature and also purchase crackers that are not loud. They have also been asked to not burst crackers near hospitals, schools and places of worship.
The Pollution Control Board has directed people to abstain from bursting crackers on congested roads or lanes, instead opt for open grounds and non-residential areas to burst firecrackers.
