Mangaluru: A 25-year-old man was brutally murdered and two others were injured after a group of people attacked them at Ekkaru, Devaragudde under the Bajpe Police Station Limits on Monday, June 1.
The deceased has been identified as Keerthan, a resident of Marakada. The injured are identified as Nithin (20) and Manesh (20). According to sources, there was enmity between two groups over illegal sand mining.
The other group attacked the three men with lethal weapons and killed Keerthan. Nithin and Manesh, who were injured in the attack, were rushed to a hospital and are currently receiving treatment.
Sources also informed that the miscreants attacked the youth while under the influence of ganja.
A case has been registered at the Bajpe police station and an investigation is underway.
