Mangaluru: Former Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner S Sasikanth Senthil is expected to attend a seminar and deliver a talk at the Sarvamangala Auditorium in Kankanady Brahma Baidarkala Garadi on October 2.
The seminar is being organised jointly by Samadarshi Vedike, Mangaluru, Samudaya Mangaluru, Bharatiya Janakala Samiti, Dakshina Kannada district unit of Dalita Sangharsha Samiti and Apna Desh. While Sasikanth Senthil will deliver a talk on ‘Bapu and Nationality’, another chief guest, Jagadish Koppa will speak on ‘Bapu and Mankind’.
If Senthil attends the seminar and delivers his talk, it will be his first public speech since his resignation from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS).
It can be recalled that he had resigned from the IAS citing that the “fundamental building blocks of democracy are compromised in an unprecedented manner”. When the media sought the exact reason for his resignation, Senthil had stated that the anti-people programmes of the Central Government like the abrogation of Article 370, Triple Talaq law and the Ayodhya issue led him to tender his resignation.
All this had added more importance and intrigue to Senthil’s scheduled talk on Bapu’s birth anniversary.
