Mangaluru: Mangaluru East police inspector Shantharam Kunder has been deputed to duty at the Police Commissioner’s office, after his controversial statement went viral on social media.
It is said that Commissioner of Police Dr P S Harsha relieved Shantharam from the Mangaluru East police station, and deputed him to execute his duty at his office (Compol office) as punishment.
It can be noted that a video, wherein inspector Shantharam was seen asking a police constable why no one died even after firing, had gone viral. Congress leaders kept on urging the police department to suspend him from, claiming that the intention of the police department was not to disperse the protesters, but to kill them.
However, the Commissioner of Police did not suspend him, but merely relieved him from executing duties as inspector and deputed to work at his office from Tuesday, December 24.
