Kasargod, Apr 3: A seven-member group of moral police assaulted a youngster while having ice cream with a known woman at a parlor here on Monday April 1 afternoon.
The town police arrested a youngster after the incident.
The arrested has been identified as twenty-year-old Priyesh, a resident of Gange Road in R D Nagar, here.
The town circle inspector P K Sunil Kumar informed that they have gotten information on four youth involved in the incident.
The moral police assaulted thirty-four-year-old Abdulla, a resident of Zeenat Nagar, Bangodu – Talangare, here who is employed as sales manager in a shop at Mangalore. He is also serving as secretary of Bangod Defence Club. He asked the 2 women who are working at the Club, to meet him at the town to discuss regarding organizing a blood donation camp at the club. When they were having ice cream at a parlor here, the moral police assaulted Abdulla in front of the women at the parlor.
The customers managed to nab Priyesh and handed over to the custody of police, while others fled.
