Mangaluru: Congress Leader M. G. Hegade has said that 75 per cent of BJP MPs will be in jail if the judiciary behaves honestly.

He was delivering the keynote address at a public meeting held as part of the 14-day-long Bantwal Prajadhvani Yatra led by Former Minister Ramanath Rai. Referring to Rahul Gandhi’s jail term, he said, “No case has been registered against those who asked Siddaramaiah to finish off,” he said, adding that there is a tendency by the BJP to squeeze those who question them.

“The BJP was trying to mislead people emotionally. Now the same is taking a backseat. Now everyone is enlightened. The BJP doesn’t want a story of development. The BJP is running on the ED, CDs, beedi formula,” he said, adding that development should be the election mantra of politics.”

Former Minister B. Ramanath Rai said that the Congress does not make false promises. The BJP doesn’t care about the poor. While giving from the rich to the poor is a Congress programme, the BJP is giving from the poor to the corporate rich like Adani Ambani,” he alleged.

Opposition Leaders have admitted that they have done development work even when they were Opposition MLAs, he said, adding that those who glorify murderers do not need to listen to the words of morality from them.
