Mangaluru: Assault on trader at Vittal Temple fair, accused held

Mangaluru: Police have detained several of the accused in connection with the assault on a trader at a fair in Vittal.

According to sources, a group of youths assaulted a vendor when his stall at the Vitla Sri Panchalingeshwara Temple fair was being around midnight, despite the trader having the necessary permits. A case had been registered against Manjunath, Ganesh Kadambu and four others at the Vitla Police Station.

Among the accused, Ganesh Kadumbu has been taken into custody. Another suspect, Harshith, was arrested from the City. The police said that he was involved in criminal cases.

Police are trying to trace Manjunath, another suspect, who is reportedly hiding somewhere in Kerala.
