Mangaluru: Former Minister U. T. Khader said, “The BJP Government is going to remove all reservations, including those for SCs and STs.

Their aim is to create anarchy in the State by throwing it to the wind. He questioned the motive behind removing one’s reservation and giving it to another at the end of the four-year term and creating confusion.

Addressing a press conference here, he said that the anti-reservation policy of the BJP is the same as that of Muslims in the 2-B category and then givng it to someone else. Thereby deceiving people. The reservation has been allotted in the manner the lollipops and chocolates are given. Does this benefit anyone?,” he asked.

As per the Supreme Court order, not more than 50 per cent reservation can be given. It was also decided in Parliament in December last year.

The order to increase the reservation for SC/STs should also be upheld in Parliament and included in the Ninth Schedule. Despite knowing this, the BJP is doing drama,” he said.

Khader said that there is a hidden agenda behind it to create confusion about reservation and if anyone goes to Court to challenge it, there is no reservation for all.
There is a problem of water in many places. The election code of conduct should not be such that the common man is not disturbed. During elections, neither the MLAs nor the political leaders can call the officials and get them to work. Proper funds should be given to ensure that there is no water problem, he said and also demanded that the District Administration should inform whom to contact in case of a problem in urban and rural areas.
