Mangaluru: The Defence Minister contributed a T-565 Tank through the Pune Central Defence Depot to the Manjusha Museum at Dharmasthala of Belthangady Taluk in the District.
The donated T-565 Tank was used in service of the nation’s security for approximately 40 years. Notably, it was used during the 1971 Indo-Pak war and the Bangladesh liberation war.
The tank which weighs 40 tonnes stands at a height of nine feet, is 27.6 feet in length, and 10.8 feet in breadth. The armoured vehicle has recorded a maximum speed of 51kilometres/hour and has a capacity of 500 horsepower.
