Mangaluru: The City Police have stepped up security at the Surathkal Toll Gate ahead of the massive protest by Toll Gate Virodhi Horata Samithi Surathkal and other organisations here on Tuesday October 18.

The City Police Commissioner N. Shashi Kumar, Police civil staff, KSRP and CAR police have been deployed in the area.

As per the deadline set by the committee on September 13, the government had until October 18 to remove the Surathkal Toll Gate. They had warned to lay siege if the government fails to comply with their requests.

The DC’s office recently held a meeting with NHAI, who vowed to resolve the toll gate issue within 15 to 20 days.
