Mangaluru: Two arrested for trying to sell ambergris worth crores of rupees

Mangaluru: CCB Police arrested two persons for trying to sell ambergris worth crores of rupees.

The accused has been identified as Nimith (26 ) and Yogesh (41) of Belthangady Taluk. Mangaluru CCB Inspector Shyam Sundar led a raid and arrested two persons after receiving specific information that ambergris meaning whale vomit, a rare wildlife product that is valued at crores of rupees was also seized. It was lifted for sale in the Lalbagh grounds in the City.

 

Two mobile phones, ambergris weighing 3.2 kgs which are rare and worth crores of rupees, have been recovered from the accused and are valued at around Rs. 3.2 Crore in the international market. A complaint has been filed at the Barke Police station.

 

CCB Unit Police Inspector Shyam Sundar, Rajendra, Sudeep and CCB personnel were part of the operation to trace the accused.
