Mangaluru: Kavoor police arrested a man who had uploaded video and photos of attack on students belonging to different communities.Vishad, a resident of Pachanady was arrested on February 6 on charges of uploading the video and photos of the victim students on social media. He has been sent to judicial custody.
It may be recalled that on January 2, students belonging to different religion from a private college had been to Pilikula Nisargadhama. Right wing activists Sampath Shetty, Varada and Dinesh Shetty took to moral policing in presence of local police and assaulted the students, videographed the incident and clicked photos of the same.
The video and the photos of the incident had instantly gone viral.
Mangaluru police had arrested three persons in this case and also registered a First Information Report under sections 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation), 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement) and 355 (assault or criminal force with intent to dishonour a person).
