Mangaluru: On his visit to the city on Friday, December 9, State Minister for Health and Family Welfare K R Ramesh Kumar inaugurated various facilities at Wenlock Hospital. The hospital now has Wenlock Ambulance Response Service (WARDS), Janasanjeevani medical shop, Ayush special treatment unit, renovated prison ward and outpatient x-ray unit.
Speaking on the occasion, Ramesh Kumar said, “Nurses and doctors who serve patients honestly, with transparency and selfless attitude will definitely be blessed as the patients will always give their blessing.”
“Human beings are the only species which can help each other and save lives when in emergency. Doctors can help patients at the hospital but in case of emergency, common people themselves have to take the responsibility of reaching patients to the hospital. Nurses and paramedic personnel have a great responsibility of taking care of the patients as well. It is important to help patients in every way,” Ramesh said.
Speaking about the Government’s intention of opening Janasanjeevani medical shop near Wenlock, Ramesh Kumar said, “There have been a lot of cases where private medical shops overcharge their customers. In order to keep this under check, the health department has inaugurated its medical shop to avoid people getting cheated.”
Principal Secretary to Health and Family Services Dr. Shalini Rajaneesh, Mangaluru South MLA J R Lobo, Health and Family Welfare Department’s Dr. P L Nataraj and District Health Officer Dr. Ramakrishna Rao were also present at the inauguration.
