Mangaluru: SP Annamalai is a familiar name in Dakshina Kannada having served as the SP of Udupi district earlier before being posted to Chikkamagaluru and is known for his no-nonsense attitude.
However off-late news has been doing the rounds that the bold officer would be transferred to Dakshina Kannada after the recent clashes witnessed in Kalladka. According to sources, District in-charge Minister B Ramanatha Rai had put forth thesuggestion during a meeting held with ADGP (Law and Order).
Sources also hinted that it was felt that an officer like Annamalai could keep the unwanted elements in check and restore the law and order situation especially in view of the assembly elections next year.
However, SP Annamalai has said that he has so far not received any information regarding transfer to the district.
Meanwhile, a lot of people have taken to the social media supporting the decision of appointing Annamalai as the SP.
