Mangaluru: Former minister B Ramanath Rai has compared Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Pakistani counterpart Imran Khan, claiming that both are slinging mud at each other aiming at winning elections in their respective nations.
Blaming Modi for not visiting flood-hit areas of the state and not announcing proper compensation for the victims so far, Rai on Sunday, September 8 said, “Modi preferred to attend poll campaign in Haryana and participate in the ‘Vijay Sankalpa Rally’ in Rohtak today. He has not found time to visit the flood-hit pockets of Karnataka. The intention of Modi is to only win the election and he has no concern for the people. On the other hand, Pakistan PM Imran Khan has been blaming India for the sake of political reasons, Modi is also engaged in issuing statements against Pakistan just for gaining votes. Their topmost priority is to win the election,” he said.
Senthil should withdraw his resignation
Rai urged Sasikanth Senthil to withdraw his resignation claiming that he has done good job while he was the deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district. “Senthil’s preventive measures to check flood, drought and dengue disease was commendable. However, the BJP leaders are now engaging in blaming Senthil after he spoke against the administration of the central government. Soon after the resignation of Senthil, the BJP leaders also admitted that Senthil was a good officer. But, when his words came against the anti-people programmes of union government, the BJP leaders are spreading malicious rumours against Senthil,” he lamented.
Leaders like Kavitha Sanil, Shashidhar Hegde, Kodijal Ibrahim, Vishwas Kumar Das among others were present.
