Mangalore: Senior journalist BM Basheer who is presently serving as News Editor of Vartha Bharathi Kannada daily has been chosen for the P Lankesh Award -2012. The Award is sponsored by the Karnataka Sangha of Shimoga. Basheer is also an eminent writer and thinker.
Others who are chosen for the award are Basavannappa Kambara in the short story category, Girija Shastri for poetry and Dr H S Anupama in the translation category.
