Bantwal: A pedestrian was killed on spot in a hit-and-run case near Loretto Padav here on December 19. The Bantwal police have managed to arrest the car driver who was responsible for the mishap.
The accident occurred on Monday evening when Ramond Fernandes(59) was walking towards his house. The speeding Omni car hit him and though he was shifted to Thumbe hospital he was declared brought dead. The locals blamed the car driver for escaping from the spot despite hitting the pedestrian.
Bantwal Traffic police however arrested the car driver Naveen Poojary near Siddakatte. He was produced before the court and has been sent to 15 days judicial custody.
