Mangaluru: ADGP Kamal Panth after a review meeting with the Mangaluru city commissioner, Dakshina Kannada SP and IGP here in the city, said major preparations are underway to ensure elaborate security arrangements ahead of BJP’s Parivarthan rally and Tipu Jayanthi in Dakshina Kannada.
Panth addressing a press meet on November 8 said, “A total of 2000 police personnel have been deployed along with 13 platoons of KSRP, 1 battalion of RAF to avoid any untoward incident across the district. We have been keeping a watch on the anti social elements and have already obtained 198 bonds from them.”
He further said that no protests would be held against Tipu Jayanthi since it is a government programme. “We have held a peace meeting ahead of Tipu Jayanthi,” he added.
