Mangaluru: Following the recent protests that took place at the St Gerosa school, the Pandeshwar police station has now filed a case against two MLAs (Vedavyas Kamath of the Mangalore South Legislative Constituency and Bharath Shetty of the North Legislative constituency), two corporators (Bharath and Sandeep Garodi) and a leader from an organization that they believe to have been responsible for the many threats the school has received.
It all began when a parent sent an audio clip viral, accusing a certain teacher of making negative remarks on a particular religion. The clip reports that the teacher made a hurtful remark on Hindu deities, which only led to an outbreak with protestors gathered outside the school, shouting out slogans and making derogatory remarks against the teacher’s religion.
The situation escalated to the extent where the protesters began to involve the students, encouraging them to break the school rules and speak against the school, disturbing the peace and harmony of not just the school but the entire Dakshina Kannada district in general.
The school, on its part, took immediate action, suspending the teacher involved, in compliance with the demands of the protestors, and ensuring an atmosphere of equality and quality education.
In addition to that, it also assured its commitment to cooperate with authorities and other officials in charge on any further inquiry
