On Wednesday, April 10, the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) Committee of Dakshina Kannada embarked on an innovative approach to promote voting awareness by organizing a programme at Panambur beach. Leveraging the popularity of water sports, the committee aimed to engage and educate the public about the importance of voting.
The event featured a variety of water sports activities, including parasailing, jetski riding, banana riding, and parasailing deep boat rides. These exhilarating experiences served as platforms for disseminating messages related to voter participation and electoral education. Notably, the nodal officer of the SVEEP Committee and Chief Executive Officer of Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat, K. Anandh, and Superintendent of Police of Dakshina Kannada, C.B. Ryshyanth, actively participated in the awareness programme by showcasing voting awareness placards.
Given that Wednesday was a government holiday, the beach attracted numerous tourists, providing an opportune moment to reach a diverse audience with the voting awareness drive. Spectators eagerly watched as the SVEEP Committee utilized the scenic backdrop of Panambur beach to convey the significance of exercising one’s voting rights in a democratic society.
