Mangaluru: Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath will address “Jana Suraksha Yatra” (Mangaluru Chalo) valedictory programme in the city on March 6.

Addressing a press meet, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said that that the “Jana Suraksha Yatra” was a four-day rally beginning on March 3 from Ankola and Kushalnagar simultaneously which would culminate in Mangaluru on March 6. Union Minister Ananth Kumar Hegde and MP Shobha Karandlaje will lead the rally from North Karnataka and Union Minister Prakash Javedkar will inaugurate it, he added. On the same day, Union Minister D V Sadananda Gowda will inaugurate the rally from Kushalanagar which would be led by MPs Nalin Kumar Kateel and Pratap Simha.

Taking a dig at Siddaramaiah-led government in the state, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said that the Congress soon after assuming power in the state, had indulged in vote bank politics through appeasement of minorities.

“As soon as Siddaramaiah assumed the power, Congress government had withdrawn the Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Bill 2010 introduced by the BJP government. Cases filed against the minorities were withdrawn. The government indirectly supported illegal cattle trafficking,” he added.

He also said that three Hindu activists in the year 2015, five in 2016, five in 2017 and two in the year 2018 were killed in the state.

“Eyeing votes of minorities, the Karnataka government has observed the Tippu Jayanti”, he alleged. He also slammed state government’s plan to organise Bahamani Sultanate festival at Bidar.

Former MLC Monappa Bhandary and others were present.
