Taking a dig at Siddaramaiah-led government in the state, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said that the Congress soon after assuming power in the state, had indulged in vote bank politics through appeasement of minorities.
“As soon as Siddaramaiah assumed the power, Congress government had withdrawn the Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Bill 2010 introduced by the BJP government. Cases filed against the minorities were withdrawn. The government indirectly supported illegal cattle trafficking,” he added.
He also said that three Hindu activists in the year 2015, five in 2016, five in 2017 and two in the year 2018 were killed in the state.
“Eyeing votes of minorities, the Karnataka government has observed the Tippu Jayanti”, he alleged. He also slammed state government’s plan to organise Bahamani Sultanate festival at Bidar.
Former MLC Monappa Bhandary and others were present.
