Youth JDS members protest for calling Kumaraswamy ‘joker’

Mangaluru: Activists of Dakshina Kannada Youth JDS, under the leadership of Akshith Suvarna gheraoed tourism minister C P Yogeshwar near the hotel where he was residing, on February 28, for calling former chief minister and eminent leader of JDS H D Kumaraswamy a ‘joker’.

Akshith said that it is condemnable of minister Yogeshwar addressing their leader Kumaraswamy as joker. “The minister has forgotten that JDS has a strong presence in Dakshina Kannada also. That is why we have gathered here to show our strength and protest against the minister. However, the minister has escaped through the rear door of the hotel and reached airport through other route.”

The minister who was getting ready to go to Bengaluru boarded a private vehicle instead of his government car as he saw the crowd of JDS workers. The Youth JDS workers, who came to know about this, gheraoed the escort vehicle of the minister and protested.

Akshith said that the ministe should behave according to his position and status. “If this act is repeated by Yogeshwar in coming days we will have to protest in other forms,” he said.

District organizing secretary of Dakshina Kannada Youth JDS Faizal Mohammed, president of Youth JDS Mangaluru North unit Rathish Karkera, vice president of Mangaluru north Hithesh Rai, vice president of Youth JDS Mohammed Asif, Sattar Bunder, Pradeep, Rohit, Srinath Poojary and other were part of the protest.
