Udupi: From where did Siddaramaiah give 10 kgs of rice? Not from his own pocket. It is Central Government money. It was the Prime Minister Narendra Modi Government at the Centre that funded all the schemes given during the Siddaramaiah Government. Narendra Modi’s money, and Siddaramaiah’s name. This is what he did in the last term,” said Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje.

Speaking to mediapersons here, she said, “Siddaramaiah is thinking that he can cheat the people of the State once again. But the people of Karnataka are educated and intelligent. What did he do when he was given the opportunity to become the Chief Minister? What kind of casteism was brought about? How did they work to divide religions? The people of the State have seen all this,” she observed.

“The Central Government is providing ration rice to 84 Crore people of the country. The Centre is purchasing one kg of rice for Rs. 36 and is supplying State for Rs. 3. A kilogram of wheat is purchased at Rs. 26 per and supplied to State at Rs. 2 per kg. For this, the Central Government spends Rs 1.60 lakh Crore every year,” she informed.

“Siddaramaiah has already made the announcement that if he becomes the CM again, the first thing he will do is to give an additional Rs. 10 Crore to Muslims. They can give money to anyone. But that’s the money of the Government treasury. There are poor people in all castes and religions. It is not right to give a fair amount of money on the issue of religion and only appease them for the sake of the vote bank. So, the people of the State know more about Siddaramaiah than me,” she said.
