Chikkamagaluru: Former Chief Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy has said that the lives of the poor and farmers will be made better if the JD (S) is given a clear majority in the 2023 elections.

Kumaraswamy was received and welcomed by JD (S) workers at AIT Circle in the City and received near Hanumanthappa Circle and taken in an open vehicle to Azad Park via M. G. Road in the City.

Speaking at Azad Park in the City, he said that the Pancharatna Rath Yatra has been going on across the State for the last 74 days and is working for it for 16 hours a day. He said the ‘Pancharatna Yatra’ has been undertaken to seek the blessings of every family in the State and implement several schemes for a permanent solution to the problems of the poor and farmers.

“It is not a suggestion given by any intellectual to undertake the Pancharatna Yatra, but every day the poor come from every nook and corner of the State to address the problems,” he said.

He said the Rath Yatra was undertaken on the basis of its experience.
People suffering from kidney, heart diseases and cancer come to us in hundreds everyday. It is not possible for a person to help. If we are empowered for five years to address these issues, English education will be made available free of cost from class 1 to 12 at the Gram Panchayat level for poor children, he said.

A 30-bed well-equipped hospital will be constructed in each Gram Panchayat to provide quality treatment, he added.

“Diseases costing between Rs. 35 Lakh and Rs. 40 Lakh will be funded by the Government. The prices of farmers will be reduced. “The BJP Government is trying to import arecanut from Bhutan. This will cause a lot of trouble to our farmers. Farmers need to be careful. Landless people will be given land, youth will be trained and loans up to Rs 10 lakh will be given to them to provide them self-employment,” he said

He said that the house would be constructed at a cost of Rs. 5 Lakh. 65-year-olds are given 5,000 monthly allowances. Two and a half thousand masashanas will be given every month to widows and preference will be given to the preparation of dresses worn by the Banjara Community.
