Chikkamagaluru: As the Chikkamagaluru Assembly election is approaching, all theu parties are devising strategies to woo the voters. But voters are also more aware than ever before. During the elections, they are putting forward a list of things to be done for their villages without succumbing to temptations.
Many villages that do notj have access to drinking water, roads and electricity have decided to boycott the elections this time. They are warning that they will not vote without the facilities being provided.
Similarly, the Naxal-affected villages of Mudigere Taluk, which have been facing severe difficulty in accessing digital services for decades without a mobile network, are on the path of struggle. Therefore, it is not possible to get any Government facility. The villagers are facing severe difficulties due to non-availability of OTP.
Despite earlier appeals and protests demanding a mobile tower, there was no response. Using social media, they have launched an innovative campaign called “No vote without OTP”. Towers should be constructed for villages, they demandwd. Without building a tower, we will not vote without OTP coming on our phones, they added. Naxal-affected villages have thus threatened to boycott elections.
