Chikkamagaluru: MLA H.D. Thammaiah said that he would sincerely solve the forest problems in the district and benefit farmers, coffee growers and others.
At a tourist hall in the city, He discussed the issue of forest land in the district with the office-bearers about the protection of the Anti-Kasturirangan and Mullayyanagiri, Reserve Action Committee.
“I don’t have any horns that I am a MLA. “Farmers’ problems should be resolved,” he said, “I will come to the deputy commissioner’s office and the SP’s office. Four to five people from various organisations assured that the deputy commissioner and DFO will discuss the forest issues and find solutions to the problems”. he said.
AICC secretary B.M. Sandeep said the previous MLAs did not have any pro-people concern. The problems of the people were not understood. He complained that no attempt was made to solve the problems.
Stating that MLA H.D. Thammaiah has a pro-people concern, he said that he was confident that the government would make efforts to solve the problems of farmers and coffee growers by following the law and would take a committee from the district to the Forest Minister on forest issues and work towards solving the problem.
A joint survey on revenue and forest land issues is to be undertaken and the MLA will bring it to the notice of the minister and resolve it. A committee has been constituted to look into the Kasturi Rangan and MLA H.D. Deve Gowda has been asked to pressurise the state government to come to the district and conduct a survey. Thammaiah said he would work hard.
