Bengaluru: Three-time MLA from Bhadravati and senior labor leader Appaji Gowda, 67, died at the Shivamogga district COVID-19 hospital.
He was first elected as an Independent MLA in the year 1994 and again in 1999. In 2013, he was elected as an MLA for the third time as a JDS lawmaker.
According to sources, he was tested positive a few days ago and rushed to the hospital after developing breathing issues. He passed away on Wednesday at midnight.
CM BS Yediyurappa, former prime minister HD Deve Gowda and others condoled his death. He is survived by his wife and son.
