Shivamogga: It has been a month since the Visvesvaraya Iron and Steel Plant (VISL) workers’ began protesting to save the factory which started long ago and the Contract Workers’ Union has staged a massive protest in the City.
The labourers, who had come in a bike rally from Bhadravathi VISL, reached Shivamogga Science Ground and then from there on barefoot to Gopi Circle and Mahaveer Circle.
The protest, which came near Mahaveer Circle, surrounded the Circle and blocked the road.
The Deputy Commissioner was made to come to the spot and accept the request, which they urged needs to be sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
During this time, the vehicles coming from all the four sides got jammed. At the same time, the agitators showed humanity by giving way to an ambulance.
