Mangaluru: Young international singing sensation Eshan Fernandes captivated audiences with his unique multilingual concert, Transcending Boundaries 3, held at Kalaangann. The performance featured 12 songs in 12 different languages, including Bambara, Persian, Swedish, Italian, Hindustani, Portuguese, Konkani, Spanish, Kazakh, English, Tulu, and Armenian.

Eshan brought the audience on a cultural journey by explaining the origins, emotions, and cultural contexts of each song before performing them. His soulful renditions allowed listeners to deeply connect with the music’s essence.

He was supported by a talented team of Mangaluru’s finest musicians: Jerome Coelho (bass guitar), Sanjay Rodrigues (keyboard), Sanjeet Rodrigues (drums), Joswin D’Cunha (lead guitar), and Jeevan Siddi (gumo’tt and backing vocals). The evening began with an introduction by Mandd Sobhann Gurkar Eric Ozario, and Louis J. Pinto, the organization’s president, honored the performers.

Eshan, a Materials Engineering graduate from the University of British Columbia, is a true polymath with passions for history, linguistics, and art. Inspired by his father, renowned guitar maestro Alwyn Fernandes, Eshan has carved out his own distinctive style, blending linguistic prowess and innovative guitar techniques. As a member of UAE’s popular band Olive Haze, he continues to explore and promote diverse musical traditions.

This concert was the third in the Transcending Boundaries series, following two earlier performances in Mangaluru and Pamboor, further cementing Eshan’s mission of connecting cultures through music.
