To ease traffic during road rectification between KIOCL Junction and Kulur Arch Bridge, the Mangaluru City Traffic Police has issued a detailed traffic advisory. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is fixing paver blocks on the Kulur Bridge approach, with work scheduled from 8:00 PM, July 22 to 8:00 AM, July 25.
🔹 Temporary Two-Way Conversion
City Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy stated that the new Kulur bridge (Mangaluru–Udupi direction) will temporarily operate as a two-way road. This may increase congestion in stretches between Kodikal Cross–KIOCL Junction and Panambur–KIOCL Junction.
🔹 Advisory for Motorists
- Avoid Peak Hours: Commuters heading from Mangaluru to Udupi via KIOCL junction are advised to use alternative routes, especially during rush hours.
- Alternate Routes for Light Vehicles & Lorries:
- From Udupi to Bengaluru/Mysuru: Use Padubidri–Karkala–Moodbidri.
- From Udupi/Mulki to Mangaluru: Turn left at Vijaya Sannidhi, proceed via Kinnigoli–Kateel–Bajpe–Maravoor–Kavoor.
- From Mangaluru to Udupi: Use Kavoor–Maravoor–Bajpe–Kateel–Kinnigoli–Mulki Vijaya Sannidhi.
- From BC Road/Bengaluru/Mysuru to Udupi: Route via Bikarnakatte–Kulasekhara–Vamanjoor–Kakamba–Bajpe–Kateel–Kinnigoli–Mulki Vijaya Sannidhi.
🔹 Heavy Vehicle Guidance
All fuel and gas tankers, along with industrial cargo from MCF, ONGC, HPCL, IOCL, etc., must use the Kulur new bridge, except during peak traffic hours.
Motorists are urged to cooperate with authorities for smooth traffic flow and safety.
