Udupi: The District Police have launched a new Mobile App at SP office here on March 27, which aims to simplify the complaint registration process
Annamalai, SP on the occasion of App launch, said that the App will give confidence to the public to come forward with their small problems too. Most of the time people are hesitant to come to police stations.
He added that the app will maintain the confidentiality of a petitioner and provide the freedom to complain from any location. All the complaints will be sorted by the SP himself. Through the app, every simple complaints will be considered and solved by the end of the day, itself. The user can post complaints with image proof, video and text.
To avoid any fake complaint or pranks, complaints are accepted though login, registration though the telephone number. An automatically generated unique code will be given to every complaint.
He further added that in serious cases, the complaints through the app will be given equal importance and subsequently an FIR will be logged. However if necessary the person would be contacted through the personal data provided during registering of complaint, for signature he added.
There is also an option in the app to get a follow up of every complaint. It is one of the best efforts to bridge the gap between public and police.
