The doctors at Bharat Hospital and Institute of Oncology, and his family members instilled in him, the confidence he needed, to stick it out through the treatment and get cured, leading him to bravely state that he “may die of old age, but not cancer.”
Dr. MS Vishveshwara, Medial Superintendent and Chief Radiation Oncologist, Bharat Hospital and Institute of Oncology said, “Treatment is given to the patients, but we also focus on the way we approach our patients.” He also mentioned that, to get the disease cured, not only finance support but moral support and family support is equally important.
Shivanna, who has now been completely cured said, “When I was first diagnosed with throat cancer I was scared. But, when I came to Bharath Cancer Hospital, the confidence that the doctors instilled me changed my perception. The support from my family members, especially my daughter-in-law K M Suma, enabled me to fight my cancer successfully. Within six years I managed to cured.
