Class 9 boy’s leg crushed under KSRTC bus; conductor, driver blamed

Mysuru: A 14-year-old boy lost his left leg after being run over by a KSRTC bus while he was tring to board the bus here on Monday evening.

The victim, Ullekh, a class 9 student had arrived at the KSRTC bus stand here after school to take a bus to Bannur.However, when he and few other boys were boarding the bus, the conductor on observing that they were pass holders asked the driver to move ahead.

Having lost balance, Ullekh fell down and his left leg got stuck under the rear wheel of the bus.Though people around shouted for the driver to stop, he did not and Ullekh’s leg was crushed under the wheels.

He was immediately rushed to a hospital where the doctors had to amputate nearly one-and-a-half feet of his leg.

A complaint of negligence has been registered against both the conductor and driver at the Devaraja traffic police station.
