Mysuru: Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala has issued an order to initiate stringent action against all those held guilty in the Bhakta Vatsalam Commission Report, pertaining to the scams that rocked the Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) from 2009-2013.
A single member Commission of retired magistrate Bhakta Vatsalam had studied the case in detail for nine months and had submitted the 432-page report to the Governor on October 14 this year. The report comprises details on illegal appointments, infrastructure establishments and marks sheet-scam that took place in the KSOU during the tenure of Prof KS Rangappa as a Chancellor.
After reviewing the report, Governor Vajubhai Vala invited University Registrar TS Nayak to the Raj Bhavan and handed over a letter in a sealed envelope comprising the names of all the defaulters mentioned in the Bhakta Vatsalam Report and asked him to pass it to the Chancellor.
When asked, Chancellor Prof. MJ Krishnan admitted that he had received the envelope from the Governor. However, he said that the names in the letter could not be revealed. He further said that action will be initiated after holding a discussion with legal experts.
