Madikeri: Minister for Forest and Ecology Ramanath Rai’s blotch-free political career has been scarred. As per reports, his son Deepu Rai hit the headlines after he misbehaved with the villagers at Srimangala near Nagarhole on Sunday in an inebriated state.
It is said that Deepu Rai and his friends -Tejas and Ganesh had come to Srimangala in an Innova car on a tour and at a place called T Shettigeri, they stopped the car in the fields of Mandamada Tejappa. The reveling trio resorted to playing loud music and consuming alcohol and when Tejappa questioned them, the trio assaulted Tejappa.
Soon, Tejappa called upon locals and thrashed Deepu Rai and companions. He was handed over to the Srimangala police while his two companions managed to escape.
No FIR
However, what was startling that despite misbehaviour, the police sent him away without even filing an FIR. As per sources, the police even provided him an escort.
