Mandya: Villagers of Narayanapur were in for a surprise when they found natural spring water in a dry barren land recently.
When 15 feet deep wells fail to provide any semblance on the presence of underground water, farmer Bettaiah found water in his field, few feet below the ground level.
Locals attribute the miracle to deity Cheuvanarayana Swamy on the occasion of religious ritual called Vairamudi in nearby Melukote temple pond.
Nearby villagers were seen rushing towards the ‘Oasis’ to collect water in glasses and bottles which they consider as holy! It is gathered the dampness extends to few feet depth and the sudden appearance of water in dry barren land has taken many by surprise.
