Mysuru DDPU trapped by ACB

Mysuru: Deputy Director of PU Board Mysuru, Jayaprakash was caught red-handed by Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths while taking bribe from a private college to renew license. He was supposed to retire this month end.

Based on a complaint filed by Administrative officer Shakuntala of the Vijaya Chethana College which is in Kuvempunagar to the ACB that DDPU Jayaprakash had demanded Rs 2.5 Lakh for the renewal, the sleuths caught Jayaprakash caught him in the act while receiving Rs 25,000 as first instalment for getting license renewed.

There are 209 PU colleges across the district including 68 government PU Colleges, 32 aided PU Colleges and 115 unaided PU Colleges.

Jayaprakash assumed office as the Deputy Director of PU Education (DDPUE), Mysuru district in November last year. After the retirement of K M Puttu as DDPUE, Dr. Regina P. Malaki was the in-charge who had later handed over the charge to Jayaprakash. Before being posted to Mysuru as DDPU, he was DDPU in Chamarajanagar district.
