Mysuru: Rangayana Director Addanda Cariappa has objected to the statement of Adi Chunchanagiri Matha Pontiff Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji of Adichunchanagiri Samsthan Matha that there should be no discussion about the Vokkaliga Warriors Urigowda and Nanjegowda .
Speaking to mediapersons here on Friday March 24 he said that I have respect for Swamiji. “But instructing to stop debate on Urigowda and Nanjegowda is not correct. Addanda Cariappa, the author of Tippu nija Kanasugalu (true dreams of Tipu) play which witnessed successful staging of more than 50 shows across State said that there should be a research on this, the pontiff has indirectly stood with Former Chief Minister Kumaraswamy,” he said.
“He is a Swamiji only for the Vokkaliga community, not for other castes. Their job is to protect the Vokkaliga community, he said and Addanda Cariappa added that it is wrong to say that there should not be a discussion about Urigowda and Nanjegowda. “The Seer stood behind Kumaraswamy in the Congress – JDS alliance Government. He alleged that Shivakumar, and Kumaraswamy are Vokkaliga Leaders. But Seer does not consider BJP Vokkaliga Leader C. T. Ravi and Dr. C. N. Ashwath Narayan as Vokkaligas.
“Even after Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji said not to discuss the controversy and said it may be Ravi, Ashwath Narayan, Gopalaiah, whoever is talking about this matter, I think that they all should be calm because the background of the history was made clear to them, he observed.
