Mysuru: Mysuru – Kodagu MP Pratap Simha said that Siddaramaiah, who claims as the unquestioned leader of the Congress Party and projcts himself as the next Chief Minister, could not find a constituency for himself. Siddaramaiah who used to boast he could win from any constituency finally is back to his native Constituency, added Simha sarcastically.
Speaking at a press conference here on Sunday March 26, Simha said that Siddaramaiah had to come to Varuna by snatching one’s opportunity. Siddaramaiah is coming to Varuna Constituency as he has no support in other Constituency. Siddaramaiah escaped with a narrow margin in Badami in 2018, but now would loose wherever he contests. Siddaramaiah says that if High Command gives ticket, I will contest in
Kolar. The High Command is not ready to give the constituency, he noted.
“On what basis is he saying that he will be the next Chief Minister? The party that did not give him the ticket, will it give him the post of CM?” he questioned and added that Siddaramaiah’s political life was over in 2018 itself. Amidst the constituency search, it was almost certain that Siddaramaiah
would contest from the Kolar constituency. Two or three rounds of survey
were also conducted by Siddaramaiah’s supporters. But the BJP had claimed that Siddaramaiah would not contest from Kolar. Former CM Yediyurappa who went a step further and predicted that Siddaramaiah will not contest from Kolar, he will go towards Mysuru. Accordingly, he is contesting from Varuna
Constituency in the District,” he observed.
Talking about the issue of Pratap Simha contesting for the Assembly, he
said that he will work as an MP in Modi’s administration till 2029. He said, “I am not stupid enough to look for one Assembly constituency, leaving the seat of MP representing 8 assembly constituencies.”
